The MASS media report on murder at Sandy Hook

I was up all night listening and watching the news feeding frenzy that the Sandy Hook tragedy has spawned.  Morgan on CNN is already calling for new gun laws to stop the killing.  The only way to stop the killing is to put the killers away.  Unfortunately we have not found a way to reliably confine a felon BEFORE they commit the crime.  One way to help holding it down is to STOP glorifying every one that happens.  Can anyone convince the media that the coverage is harmful.  There are those that attack the movies as bad example for kids.  What about the real thing ?  They are already getting the excuses ready.  The killer was sick, heneeded treatment, it was his mother's fault for not seeking help.  Our socity has become so twisted that we cannot tell right from wrong.

Thanks for reading,

  1. There are statistics that point to violence and it's assention with the date that our gov ernment took Prayer out of the schools. The bible says that Angels listen for the "words of God".....and then see to it that they(prayers) are carried out. No prayer / no protection. Guns have almost nothing to do with violence, not anymore than an automobile going 70 mph. That tortured young man could have stayed in his car(with no guns)and driven into that classroom and he would have done almost as much damage, but they wouldn't be called for automobile restrictions.

  2. I don't think guns are the only problem. While I feel guns are too readily available, we need to get better at recognizing when people have mental issues and get them help. This is the only way to avoid more of these senseless killings. I am tired of the media coverage too. I wish the media would not cover every spec of information they can unearth about these suspects. That would keep us from talking about these sick idiots for weeks after they have destroyed the lives of they victims. If they use guns, cars, or bombs; I just want them stopped.

  3. Rick, Marchelle.....I agree with both of you. Almost anything can be lethal if the person wielding it wants mayhem. It is the person that is dangerous. Most of our laws and labor say that a person has to do something wrong prior to restraint. Our resources are finite. We do not have the capability to test continually for personality disorders. If you ask people to report on their friends, neighbors, and relatives; we are no better than the Reich or USSR. I was watching Alaska, the Last Frontier last week. A farmer had to slaughter a chicken because she was killing other chickens. Man is no better/worse than Gos's other creations. We have the abiility to be better, but not always the will to use it.
